CV salary

Why is it worth mentioning salary in resume?

When compiling and posting a resume, you can specify the exact figure of the expected income or leave the “Salary from” field blank. Then, when saving the resume, the wording “contractual salary” will appear in it.

In the latter case, applicants hope to get more offers, but it’s important for recruiters to navigate the financial requests of candidates: each job has a certain “plug”, and when searching for candidates, recruiters often work with a “financial” filter. And if the salary is not indicated in the resume, the personnel manager can leave this resume unattended (this is the worst case scenario) or clarify your salary expectations by phone (this option is possible when searching for specialists, managers, etc.).
How to understand how much to indicate?

Most importantly, your salary should be “in the market”. In order to evaluate yourself correctly, conduct your own monitoring. At, select 10 similar jobs where you need experience similar to yours. Positions can be called differently (for example: secretary, assistant, assistant, junior manager), we recommend analyzing vacancies by functional and length of service. Determine the average value of remuneration for these positions and indicate it in your resume.

If you cannot find a job for a long time (more than 2-3 months) and do not receive feedback from companies, try reducing the amount of your desired income by 10%. Perhaps, now your industry is in crisis or you have incorrectly assessed yourself.

If you are currently working, but are planning a transition and passively monitoring the market, then you can indicate in the resume + 10-15% of the current salary. It is for this amount that you can raise your income during the transition.
And will it be the final amount?

We recommend that you specify the desired salary in the resume, but - we will reveal a little secret - not the fact that this amount will be final.

As we have already noted, the recruiter primarily selects profiles of applicants according to formal criteria and makes sure that your cost as a professional corresponds to the budget of the company. Moreover, for a vacancy there is always a range in which the recruiter can “bargain” with the candidate.

If you made a good impression, went through all stages of the interview, most likely, at the final interview you will again discuss the conditions. Here you can increase your value if, for example:

You have learned that in reality you will have to perform more duties than originally agreed;
You saw that your experience will allow the business to “close” two positions. For example, you are a marketer who can also perform web analytics duties;
You stipulated that the indicated salary is for the trial period, and then the salary can be increased, you discussed with the manager the results and KPI, for which you will be paid a bonus or increased salary.
Do not forget that many companies offer payment for travel, food, mobile communications, which can also be considered a “salary increase”.

Is it worth writing about a hobby in a resume

Useful hobbies Useful for the applicant are those hobbies that complement the professional portrait or demonstrate desirable character traits for the profession. “For example, a person writes books, composes poetry. He has an active life in the corresponding social network for writers, lovers of poetry and more. And he himself works as a teacher at school, teaches English. Accordingly, the school administration understands that this person, with his hobby, can be used for out-of-school work - to create a theater studio or a circle of poetry.
